Sabbath Day (Gen.2: 1 – 3 & Ex.20: 8 – 11) Posted by r. a. Saturday, Mar.12/22
In response to Messiah’s claim that he came into the world to bear witness to the truth and that every one that is of the truth hears his voice, Pontius Pilate asked him, “What is the truth?” Christ didn’t answer him. Why not?
Messiah knew that “truth” for Pilate was relative. That is, it varied upon the criteria and values held by individuals/cultures/religions.
In addition, Pilate’s “truth” was also based upon political expediency – a strategy/action to bring about a desired result or personal advantage. It could be good or evil. This is all prevalent today as it was in the past.
In the main, however, the lie has become the truth and the truth has become the lie. (Isaiah 5: 20 -21)
Nevertheless, the Creator-God’s word is “The Truth” – it’s absolute and universal (Psalms 117:2; Ps.119: 30, 43, 142, 151 & Jn.17: 17). There are many other texts which state the same. The Father’s truth is everlasting – it doesn’t change.
How the truth sets one free
Messiah stated that “the truth would set us free”. Free from what? God’s word sets us free from all the lies, deceptions, truth-bending and political expediency that is foisted upon us every day.
The word of the Creator-God gives us understanding, wisdom and knowledge. We discover the great I AM’s character, his laws, his ways of dealing with humans. We learn that he created us. Our purpose and eternal destiny is revealed to us.
In addition, the word, “the Truth” of the Creator tells us the reasons for death, evil, greed, war, hate and the difference between human designed governments and the coming Kingdom (government) of God, which will be set by his son, the first-born from the dead.
In short, blessed and holy is he that keeps the commandments and ways of the Creator and has the faith of Messiah – he will be in the first resurrection and have no fear of the second death. (Rev.14: 11 -12; Rev. 20: 4 – 6)
Peace and blessings to all who love the truth and hate the lies and deceptions.
All glory, praise and honor to the Creator-God, the great I AM, in Jesus/Yahshua’s name.
