Sabbath Day (Gen.2: 1 -3 & EX.20: 8 – 11)——- by r. a.————— Saturday, Jan.30/21
In Messiah’s (Yahshua’s) name: “Let no man deceive himself…” (1Cor.3: 18) “…what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God”. (1Cor. 7: 19)
There are various instances of “self-deception”. Basically, they all boil down to the fact that a person will often believe something is not true. That is, if you’ve been taught or accepted a particular lie most of your life and someone’s presents the truth to you, it is rejected. It’s a hallmark of pride.
The truth exposes the falsehood and the person feels humiliated, especially if that person prides her or himself on knowing what they believed wasn’t true, but was a lie. It is unlikely that he or she will admit the error.
Thus, they will continue to hold to and believe the lie. He/she might have a vested interest in holding on to the skullduggery. In the end, it’s pure unadulatrated self-deception.
Here’s four biblical factors that describe those who are self-deceived.
(1) Scoffers –“there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” (2 Peter 3: 3 – 4)
(2) Worldliness (more concerned about temporal and material values instead of the spiritual ones) –“… let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we shall die.” (Isa.22: 13)
“…when they have heard ( God’s word), they go forth, and are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection”. (Luke 8: 14)
(3) False Teaching/Doctrines — “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2 Tim.4: 3 – 4)
(4) Self-Deceit — 22 “But be ye doers of the word, (the ten commandments) and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:” (looking in a mirror)
24 “For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was (a sinner). 25 But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty,(ten commandments) and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed”. (James 1: 22 – 25)
In conclusion, both the Roman church and the traditional Christian leaders are self-deceived. The Roman church adheres to 8 of the 10 commandments and the Christians to 9 of the 10 commandments. For proof, all they would need to do is check Exodus chpt 20 verses 1 to 17 for the truth. They reject the truth and hold fast to the lie. It’s called self-deception! So be it!
All glory, praise and honor to the Creator-God, the great I AM, in Messiah’s (Yahshua’s) name.
Peace, blessings and protection to all who seek and love the truth — God’s Word (Jn.17: 17 & Ps 119: 142)
