Catherine Herridge of CBS news, in a tweet, posted a memo from President Trump on his last day in office.
She stated that Trump told the Attorney General, Director of National Intelligence, and the Director of the CIA, in a memo that he received from the Justice Department on Dec. 30 a binder containing files related to the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation (the Russian government’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S Trump. presidential election).
TRUMP’s MEMO — “I hereby declassify the remaining materials in the binder,” Trump wrote in his Jan. 19 memo. “This is my final determination under the declassification review.”
Trump wanted the materials declassified to the maximum extent possible, but the FBI noted in a letter dated Jan. 17, 2021, its “continuing objection” to any further declassification of materials in the binder.
It’s interesting to note that the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray, was appointed by Trump in 2017. Wray, was the target of Trump’s anger for refusing to back false claims of voter fraud in the Nov. 3 election.
It’s no wonder Biden “intends to keep FBI Director Christopher Wray in his role.”
