US Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has lashed out at President Barack Obama for his foreign policy once again, saying he cut the legs off Washington’s ally, Israel.
“The president of the United States, at every turn, cut the legs off of our ally, Israel, and in fact embrace and lift up the agenda of Islamic jihad,” Bachmann told radio show Washington Watch on Wednesday.
The outgoing lawmaker also recalled this year’s White House Christmas party and said Obama ignored her when she voiced concerns over Iran’s nuclear program.
“He [Obama] laughed at me condescendingly, and he said, ‘Well, Michele, it isn’t that easy. But that’s OK.’ Like patting me on the head, like I didn’t know what I was talking about,” Bachmann said.
She had told Obama earlier this month that he must bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Bachmann knew that the White House Christmas party probably would be her last chance to try to lobby Obama to bomb Iran, and she did not waste the opportunity.
In September, she called President Obama the “first anti-Israel president in American history.”
Israeli officials and some pro-Zionist lawmakers on Capitol Hill have urged Obama to attack Iran over its nuclear energy program. However, the president has ignored their calls.
Last month, Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council — China, Russia, Britain, France, and the United States — plus Germany agreed to extend nuclear talks for seven more months until July 1, 2015.
The two sides also agreed that the interim deal they had signed in Geneva last November remain in place during the negotiations.
