London) St. James’ Church in central London unveiled an eight-meter-high replica of the Israeli-built concrete wall that entirely surrounds the Palestinian city of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank, the traditional birthplace of Jesus.

The wall deliberately obscures the facade of the historic St. James’ Church “because that is what has happened to Bethlehem’s holy sites and historic places.”
“This Christmas we have built a huge wall across the front of our church. We’d really like you to come and see it because it’s what the people of Bethlehem are experiencing today,” explains Reverend Lucy Winkett, rector of the church, in the brief video below.
The wall is part of the “Bethlehem Unwrapped” festival, which features a week of events, starting on 29 December, including music by Reem Kelani and Nigel Kennedy, stand up comedy with Jeremy Hardy and Mark Steel, as well as films and panel discussions.

Agree totally Yod. Many who accuse Israel of apartheid, racism and ethnic cleansing in a sustained effort to demonize Israel are directly associating themselves with the aims and goals of Israel’s enemies. The barrier is temporary, and will be dismantled when the Palestinian Arabs decide to embrace peace and accept the right of Israel to exist within secure borders…in the meantime it stays and remains an effective deterrent that has saved many lives.

Hi James. I realize you were addressing “Yod”, but I just want to thank you for your comments –much appreciated. I’d just like to point out those colonizers who refer to themselves as “Israel” are liars and impostors. They have no ancestral or blood-line connection to Palestine. The Palestinians are indigenous natives while these fake and phony people are not. They are the invaders and terrorists. A whole lot more could be said, but I’ll just leave it at that.

I don’t view Israelis of any description as colonizers but I do view many of the so-called Palestinians, as usurpers and troublemakers. Sure some of them were there on the land for several hundred years, but the vast majority had come into the province of Palestine from the mid-nineteenth century onwards, and at the time in 1948 when many Arabs fled to surrounding Arab nations, UNWRA had to change the definition of who could be classed as a refugee and stipulated anyone who had been in the land for two years now qualified.
Great Britain had a mandate ratified by 51 countries to facilitate the return of Jews to their historic homeland…they reneged on their responsibility and obligations and instead made it much easier for Arabs to come into the land while hindering Jewish immigration thus forcing an unfair demographic.
I fully support the nation of Israel in their endeavours, and wish them a prosperous and peaceful year ahead, may G-d watch over them as the apple of His eye.

Hi James! It’s my guess you’re Jewish. Most Jews when using the term “God”, leave out the “o”, erroneously thinking that the term is sacred and holy. It’s a generic term for deity. At any rate James, anyone, Jew or otherwise, who supports the so-called modern entity of Israel are complicit in their crimes against humanity, their war crimes and the breaking of Geneva Conventions, including the laws of the great “I AM THAT I AM” – the Creator-God.
As stated in the Jewish encyclopedia 80 – 90% of modern Jews are Edomites. In addition, it is recorded in the Book of Revelation, (Rev.2:9 ; 3:9) “those who say they are Jews are liars and are of the synagogue of Satan”. To my knowledge, I’m not aware of Jews around the world flocking to that ungodly Sodom and Gomorrah entity.
